Most of my day happens at a laptop in the corner of the living room, somewhere between packing school lunches and joining a work call with a toddler asking for juice in the background. I'm a mother of two, married to a husband who's far more patient than I am, and I've been working from home long enough to know exactly how much a small, badly-behaving mouse can throw off an otherwise fine day.
That's really how this site started. My old mouse began double-clicking on its own and skipping scroll notches, and I wanted a fast way to check whether it was actually the hardware or just me being tired at 11pm after a long day. Everything I found online was either buried in ads or built for competitive gamers chasing DPI numbers I didn't understand. I wanted something plain and honest that just told me what my mouse buttons and wheel were actually doing.
So I put this together myself, mostly in short stretches after the kids were asleep. It's stayed small on purpose — no sign-ups, no data collection, nothing sent off to a server. I add a test or fix something whenever I find a free hour between school runs and paid client work, which some weeks is more than others.
